Target Compounds
From VOCs to SVOCs, Beacon Environmental can target
the widest range of compounds
Beacon Environmental analyzes passive soil gas samples by
EPA Method 8260B (a GC/MS method), providing the industry’s
highest level of accuracy and QA/QC procedures. Our in-house
laboratory can target a broad range of VOCs and SVOCs, including
chlorinated solvents (e.g., PCE, TCE, TCA, vinyl chloride),
petroleum hydrocarbons (e.g., BTEX, MTBE, TPH, GRO,
DRO), polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (e.g., naphthalene,
acenapthene, pyrene), phenol, chlorobenzenes, ketones, chemical
warfare agent (CWA) breakdown products, and nitroaromatics. For
Department of Defense clients, CWAs (e.g., Mustard,
GB-Sarin, GD-Soman, VX) can be targeted using our passive soil
gas technology. Mercury can also be targeted using a slight
variation on our technology.
Following is a list of compounds that Beacon Environmental currently targets
based on a five-point initial calibration. While the list contains 130
compounds, a typical survey will target a group of six to 40 compounds.
If you do not see a compound of interest, contact us and we will let you
know if that compound can also be targeted.
